SIAM and KVS launch National Road Safety Education Programme for school students
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in collaboration with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), has launched a nationwide online road safety education programme aimed at school students. The initiative is being carried out under the guidance of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Education.
As BluSmart runs out of charge, Tata Motors & Citroën get a shock
Tata Motors and French automaker Citroën are bracing for a significant fallout after BluSmart —India’s largest all-electric fleet operator — abruptly suspended operations. The closure of BluSmart’s business puts at risk more than 9,000 vehicles that were yet to be delivered to the company as part of an 18,000-vehicle pact with manufacturers. The biggest order, of over 90% of those vehicles, had been placed with Tata Motors and Citroën.

Fuelled by Maruti power, India leaps onto Toyota’s top five
India leapfrogged several spots last year to become Toyota’s fourth-largest market — its highest ranking since the Japanese brand entered the country in 1997. This growth was largely driven by Suzuki-developed products rebadged for Toyota.
Maharashtra clears road for electric bike taxi
In an effort to enhance first and last-mile connectivity in urban areas and promote green mobility, the Maharashtra state government has approved the use of electric bike taxis and announced a comprehensive policy framework for their implementation in cities with population exceeding one lakh.

In 2021, we structured their collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority whereby BluSmart established their operations in Dubai. These operations were shut down recently a few months back,” Shrikant said.
Gensol promoters lose over half of their ownership
Bengaluru: Gensol Engineering Ltd’s promoters have lost more than half of their ownership in the company in the last 31 days of trading since rating agencies flagged issues of a credit crunch on 3 March, as creditors have wrested 57% of the pledged shares, leaving the promoters with 26.7%.

Renault opens new design centre near Chennai to boost 'Design in India' vision
Renault India has launched its Design Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, aimed at accelerating the automaker's ambition to 'design in India'. The design centre is its largest such facility outside France. The facility is expected to function as a hub of excellence, particularly due to its proximity to RNTBCI (Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India).
Hyundai partners with IndianOil to explore viability of mass-use of Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation to assess the feasibility of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) for large-scale use in India. Under the agreement, HMIL has handed over a Hyundai NEXO FCEV to IndianOil for on-road trials.

Suzuki to offer 10-year warranty for e Vitara
Maruti Suzuki will set foot into the world of electric vehicles with the launch of e Vitara in the next few weeks.
