One of the additions is the content screen, which brings commonly used apps and controls to the home screen itself. For example, changing music during navigation will no longer require leaving Google Maps. Another feature is the contextual bar that changes what drivers see depending on circumstances and displays recently used apps. A use case is the bar displaying an icon for surround-view cameras when driving at low speeds to aid in manoeuvring tight spots.

Volvo Car India is aiming for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) to account for over 30% of its India sales by 2026. Currently, BEVs contribute around 25% of Volvo’s India volumes, with the remainder coming from internal combustion engine models equipped with mild-hybrid technology. The Swedish luxury carmaker plans to expand its electric portfolio with two new BEV launches over the next year.

New Delhi: Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo is committed to an all-electric future, clocking one EV out of every four cars sold in India, although GST 2.0 has made its mild-hybrid SUVs even more compelling for customers, according to a senior company official. The implementation of GST 2.0 has been a significant catalyst, and it has streamlined the luxury segment by rationalising the tax structure, Volvo Car India Managing Director Jyoti Malhotra told PTI in an emailed interview.
