NGT serves notice on JSW Utkal Steel over alleged groundwater extraction
Bhubaneswar: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has served a notice on JSW Utkal Steel Limited, the Odisha government, and the Centre over allegations of illegal groundwater extraction for its proposed mega steel project near Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district, bringing fresh environmental scrutiny to one of the state’s largest industrial investments.

Adani Energy Q4 net profit up marginally at ₹723 cr, income rises 15%
Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) on Thursday posted a growth of 1.3 per cent in its consolidated net profit at ₹723 crore for the fourth quarter of FY26. In the year-ago period, its net profit stood at ₹714 crore. Total income during the quarter rose 15 per cent to ₹7,588 crore from ₹6,596 crore in the corresponding period.

Centre denies fuel price hike reports, calls them misleading, fake news
The government on Thursday dismissed reports suggesting a possible increase in retail prices of petrol and diesel following the conclusion of state elections in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, stating that no such proposal is under consideration. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) termed the reports “fake news”, alleging they were intended to create “fear and panic” among the public.
