Steel, aluminium prices up 25% in last one month
The prolonged war in Iran has started showing an impact on metals such as steel, aluminium and other key raw materials used in the infrastructure sector. Prices of steel and aluminium have risen by 20-25% within a month — from Rs 51,000 per tonne to Rs 62,000, and from Rs 290 per kg to Rs 376 per kg, respectively. Companies are also facing significant logistical challenges in sourcing certain products from the Gulf after the US and Israel launched an assault on Iran.

Silver, gold prices remain flat in Delhi
New Delhi: Silver and gold prices remained flat in the national capital on Friday amid muted demand from jewellers and retailers, according to the All India Sarafa Association.

While the white metal quoted unchanged at Rs 2,37,000 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes), gold of 99.9 per cent purity stayed flat at Rs 1,51,500 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes).

IndianOil says LPG supply stable, warns against panic booking amid global tensions
New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the nation's biggest oil firm, on Friday said liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply in India remains stable and adequate despite geopolitical disruptions to global energy markets, adding that domestic availability continues to be its top priority.
LNG imports fall 34% from Jan; Qatar share down to a trickle
In a sharp reset triggered by soaring prices and supply disruptions, India’s LNG imports fell 12.5% month-on-month to 1.68 million tonne (mt) in March. Qatar’s share — once as high as 40% — collapsed to just 3.6%, marking one of the most dramatic shifts in the country’s gas sourcing pattern in recent years.
