Thangamayil Jewellery Q2 net profit more than doubles
Chennai: Madurai-based Thangamayil Jewellery Ltd reported doubled its net profit to ₹104 crore for the third quarter ended December, 2025, as against ₹48 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue also rose more than 100% to ₹2,405 crore (₹1132 crore). Gold ornament sales went up by 32 per cent to 1,743 kg. Silver products sales rise 41 per cent to 6691 kg in the same quarter last year. For diamonds, the sales value jumped 46 per cent to ₹4,687 crore from ₹3,206 crore.

New Delhi: Gold, silver and copper are all trading at or near record levels. Gold has surged past $4,600 an ounce, silver crossed $90, and copper has breached $13,000 per tonne. In India, gold is near ₹1.45 lakh per 10 grams and silver above ₹3 lakh per kilogram.

New Delhi: India has made significant progress in expanding its power generation capacity over the last five years, with installed power capacity rising by nearly 36 per cent, largely driven by rapid growth in renewable energy, according to a report released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

As India races towards its 500 GW non-fossil power capacity target by 2030, the national transmission grid is preparing for its next major expansion, with around 40,000 circuit kilometres (ckm) and 399 GVA of transformation capacity of inter-state transmission lines currently under implementation, primarily to evacuate renewable energy from solar- and wind-rich states such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, officials said.
