India needs to fix $1.5-tn green finance gap. Here's how it plans to do it
New Delhi: The government is holding consultations on ways to mobilize about $1 trillion in green finance to boost investments into clean energy as the 2030 deadline for 500 gigawatts of renewable capacity nears, according to two people aware of the discussions.

Increase iron ore production, reduce prices else face export duty by Oct 2 or export ban: Centre warns
India is weighing the imposition of an export duty on iron ore as early as October 2. The move comes amidst the government’s stern warning to industry that if domestic production fails to pick up and prices are “not halved,” then there will be a duty imposition, which can possibly extend to a blanket ban on exports, according to people familiar with developments of a high-level review meeting.

India’s largest iron ore miners and steelmakers have locked horns over a potential government move to impose an export duty on low-grade iron ore, with the former seeking free exports while the steel industry wants to discourage such shipments. AB Energia launches AVIISII Electric Systems to manufacture solar mounting structures
Ahmedabad: Foraying into the manufacturing of fixed-tilt steel structures for ground-mounted solar power plants, Mumbai-based AB Energia on Friday announced the launch of its subsidiary- AVIISII Electric Systems Pvt. Ltd. The move marks a significant milestone in AB Energia’s growth strategy, enabling the company to exercise direct control over the quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency of one of the most critical elements of solar project execution, the company stated in an official release. By internalising the manufacture of steel mounting structures, which typically constitute about 7–8% of total EPC costs, equivalent to 18-20 lakhs per MWp, the company can bank on improved supply timelines and cost control.
Global hydrogen demand up 2% in two years: Report
Global hydrogen demand increased to almost 100 million tonnes (mt) in 2024, up 2 per cent from 2023 and in line with overall energy demand growth, according to the Global Hydrogen Review report, 2025. This rise was driven by sectors that have traditionally consumed hydrogen, like oil refining and industry.
