Altmin secures India’s first project listed under US-led Mineral Security Partnership

New Delhi: Altmin said on Tuesday that it has secured the first project from India to be listed with the US-led Mineral Security Partnership (MSF), which endeavours to create diverse, secure, and sustainable supply chains for critical minerals, countering China’s dominance.
Govt plans support package for steel, aluminium sectors amid US tariffs
“In response to the 50 per cent tariffs imposed by the US on Indian goods, we are discussing with the industry stakeholders and we are trying to formulate a package which should be beneficial to the entire Indian industry and help them in tiding over the crisis,” said Vimal Anand, joint secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Hindustan Zinc plans foray into fertilizers, plant commissioning targeted for Q1FY27
New Delhi: Vedanta Group compan Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) will foray into the fertilizers, with its ₹1,800 crore, 0.5 million tonnes plant at Chanderiya in Rajasthan, set for commissioning in the first quarter of FY27 (April–June of 2026). The upcoming plant will manufacture DAP (di ammonium phosphate) and NPK (nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium) fertilizers, a source aware of the development said. Around 50 GW renewable energy projects may seek tariff revision after GST rate rationalisation
New Delhi: The reduction in GST rates on Renewable Energy (RE) equipment from 12 to 5 per cent may prompt developers who have committed as much as 50 gigawatt (GW) capacity to seek tariff revision under ‘Change in law’ event. For the said revision a developer will have to move the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC). As per JM Financial, the rate rationalisation in RE is “structurally positive” as it reduces capex requirement for developers, thereby supporting lower tariffs in auctions.
India adds 3.8 GW solar open-access capacity in H1 2025
India added 3.8 gigawatt (GW) of solar open access capacity in the first half of the calendar year 2025, down over 4% from 3.9 GW added in the first half of 2024, as per data from Mercom.
