Silver price faces headwinds despite strong start to 2025
Silver headwinds have begun to blow, as new data on US growth indicates an economic downturn. Silver is still up by 11% YTD but is down 6.62% from the 2025 peak of $34. Silver price is down by 4.5% over the last 1-month and currently trades at just under $33. The silver price today in India is Rs 95,780 per kg.
Gold falls over 7% from the all-time high level of $3,500
Gold has fallen significantly from the all-time high level reached in April. Gold has reached its lowest levels in two weeks and is currently under pressure for the third consecutive day. After creating an all-time high level of $3,500, the gold price has slipped over 7% to trade around $3,232. Over the last year, gold is up by 40% in the international markets.

Petroleum products exports down 22% on month in April
India’s export of petroleum products in April declined by 22% to 1.12 million barrels per day against 1.44 million barrels per day in March, according to data from global real-time data and analytics provider Kpler. On an year-on-year basis, exports fell over 7% from 1.20 million barrels in April 2024.
