Rupee posts weekly gains ending two-week slide
The Indian rupee ended the week on a positive note, snapping a two-week losing streak, and closed at 95.38 against the US dollar on Friday, up 16 paise from the previous session. The rupee recorded a weekly gain of 0.33%, trading within a narrow band between 95.38 and 95.75, helped by central bank intervention, said market participants. Over the past two weeks, the daily movement averaged at 14 paise.

Bigger homes, smaller pool: Housing supply misses affordability sweet spot
Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s housing market is building more homes for buyers who can afford to stretch their budgets than for those looking to keep theirs in check. In Q2 2026, nearly seven in 10 new homes launched across Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad were 3BHKs or larger, even as demand remains heavily skewed towards more affordable 1BHK and 2BHK configurations. Of the 21,889 residential units were launched in Q2 2026, but only 6,071 units, or 27.7 per cent , were 1BHK or 2BHK homes, as per NoBroker.

India's forex reserves rise $12.4 billion to record high of $729.3 billion

The total reserves had reached a previous high of $728.5 billion in the week ended February 27, before declining over the following months as the central bank intervened in the foreign exchange market through dollar sales amid the West Asia crisis. The reserves fell to $666.9 billion in the week ended June 26. They have since recovered sharply, mainly due to the concessional swap window announced by the RBI on June 5 to attract capital inflows.
