Toyota Innova Hycross non-hybrid GX(O) launched at Rs 21 lakh
Toyota has launched a new top-spec trim of the non-hybrid version of Innova Hycross. Named GX(O), bookings for this top-spec trim started around three weeks ago at a token amount of Rs 50,000. Prior to this introduction, the non-hybrid Innova Hycross was earlier offered in G(FL) and GX trims.

The Toyota Innova Hycross petrol has a new top-spec GX (O) variant, which is priced between Rs 20.99 lakh-21.13 lakh, and is available in seven- and eight-seater configurations. Compared to the previous top-spec Hycross petrol GX variant, the GX (O) adds more features. This launch also confirms our report of the Innova Hycross petrol getting a new top-spec trim and deliveries are set to commence today.

Toyota and Maruti Suzuki have played a major role in democratising hybrids in India. This has led to the Innova Hycross hybrid being plagued by insanely high waiting periods, sometimes extending to over a year. Toyota, however, has now streamlined several internal processes, and is aiming to bring down the hybrid waiting period to less than six months by the end of this year.

The Toyota Innova Hycross ZX and ZX (O) variants are now available for booking again, as per the company's official website. Bookings for the two variants were temporarily halted in April last year due to supply-related issues. The prices of the Innova Hycross hybrid have also been hiked, effective April 1, 2024.

Innova HyCross to Rumion: Toyota cars with waiting period of more than 12 months
The CNG version of Toyota's latest MPV has more demand than its standard version. The Maruti Ertiga-rival, launched in August this year at a starting price of ₹10.29 lakh (ex-showroom), is sold in petrol and CNG variants. The waiting period on the Rumion CNG could go up to 18 months, or one and a half years, depending on where the buyer has booked it. Due to high demand, Toyota had to temporarily halt bookings for the Rumion E-CNG variant in September. Rumion draws power from the 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine paired with manual and automatic transmission options.
