Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition introduced as dealer-level upgrade
Toyota has launched a new version of its rugged seven-seat SUV, called the Fortuner Leader Edition. This version is based on the diesel 4x2 variants, and adds a few features and some exterior changes. At the sidelines of the launch, the Japanese brand also said it has sold over 2.5 lakh Fortuners in India since its launch in 2009.

Toyota has introduced a mild-hybrid version of the Fortuner SUV in South Africa. The Fortuner MHEV shares its mild-hybrid tech with the Hilux MHEV that was revealed late last year. Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced that despatches of the Innova Crysta MPV, Fortuner SUV and Hilux pick-up have resumed in India. The Japanese brand’s statement said that Toyota has “re-confirmed that the diesel engines meet the stipulated Indian regulations.”
