Mahindra has been working on ramping up production and reducing wait times for delivery for a while now, and these efforts seem to be paying off. At the end of January 2024, the Indian SUV specialist has significantly reduced its order backlog and delivery times, and now, just two months later, waiting periods for the Scorpio and Scorpio N have reduced again.

It’s been nearly two years since Mahindra launched the Scorpio N in India, and although demand for the SUV is not waning, Mahindra is now offering attractive discounts on the MY2023 units of the Scorpio N. Along with an increase in prices for all variants, information from dealer sources suggests that the lower- and mid-spec Z4 and Z6 variants have had some features removed or replaced.

The Mahindra Scorpio N received a 5-star rating from Global NCAP under its ‘SaferCarsForIndia’ campaign, but, under the recently released Australasian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP) test, it received a 0-star rating. This is essentially due to a more stringent protocol that also requires the fitment of ADAS, which is not available on the Mahindra Scorpio N.

In Australia, Mahindra sells the Scorpio N in just two variants - Z8 and Z8L. It is offered only with a diesel engine that comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive system. Apart from the EverestWhite colour, Australia gets four other colour schemes - Deep Forest, Napoli Black, Dazzling Silver and Rage Red.

Mahindra Scorpio N waiting period drops to 35-40 weeks
Mahindra Scorpio N is 206 mm long, 97 mm wide and has 70 mm more wheelbase compared to the Scorpio Classic. It rides on R18 and R17 diamond cut alloy wheels, and sports signature double barrel LED Projector headlamps, tall stacked LED tail lamps, shark-fin antenna and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, among other exterior features.
