Citroen has released a teaser of the new C3 Aircross for Europe ahead of its debut tomorrow. The C3 Aircross sold in Europe is based on the same platform as the India-spec model, however, features a completely different design.

Citroen recently revealed the Basalt coupe-SUV for India which will be brand’s fourth model based on the C-Cubed programme. The underpinnings are similar for all body styles on the modular CMP architecture – the C3 and eC3 hatchbacks, the C3 Aircross SUV and now the Basalt coupe-SUV – but in essence, the Basalt is closest to the C3 Aircross. Although Citroen hasn’t announced exact dimensions yet, it will measure a similar 4.3 meters in length, slotting right in the midsize SUV class.

Citroen has announced that it will offer six airbags as standard on all its model from the second half of 2024. Currently, apart from the C5 Aircross which is the brand’s flagship model, all other models only come equipped with just two airbags even in their top-spec guise.

Having launched the C3 Aircross automatic, with introductory prices starting at Rs 12.85 lakh and going up to Rs 13.85 lakh, Citroen has also revealed the ARAI fuel-efficiency figure for the model. Powered by the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine as the standard SUV, the automatic C3 Aircross gets the same 110hp, but 15Nm of torque more at 205Nm. In addition, this engine-gearbox combination is rated at 17.6kpl by ARAI.

Filling a major void in its line-up, Citroen has finally launched the automatic gearbox-equipped C3 Aircross in India. With introductory prices starting from Rs 12.85 lakh (ex-showroom), the C3 Aircross AT is available in two trims – Plus and Max – and costs Rs 1.30 lakh more than its manual counterpart. This is the first model on the C-Cubed platform to get an automatic gearbox, and bookings are ongoing for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

In what seems like a move to boost sales towards the year end, Citroen India has announced extra benefits on the C3 and C3 Aircross. While we've covered these discounts earlier this month, Citroen has now increased the benefits on the C3 and C3 Aircross by Rs 50,000, and is offering both 5-year extended warranty and fuel for a year as free. However, they have not elaborated on these offers, which are valid only till December 31. The C5 Aircross SUV continues to get benefits worth Rs 2 lakh, with offers on the SUV valid till November 30.
