Six villages identified for acquiring land to develop Maduranthakam Global City
Even as the land acquisition process for the greenfield Parandur airport is underway, the Tamil Nadu government has also kicked off the process of acquiring land for developing the Global City at Maduranthagam Taluk in Chengalpattu district, about 90 km south of Chennai.

NBCC bags Rs350 crore defence infrastructure project at Avadi
New Delhi: In a landmark achievement reaffirming its dominance in defence and public infrastructure development, NBCC (India) Ltd has secured a Rs 350 crore Project Management Consultancy (PMC) assignment from the Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF), a unit of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd (AVNL), located at Avadi, Chennai. The assignment, awarded through a highly competitive Quality-cum-Cost Based Selection (QCBS) process, covers the design, engineering and management of major capital civil works that will bolster the nation’s defence manufacturing capabilities. NBCC will serve as the Project Management Consultant for the construction and development of critical facilities including the AVNL
Corporate Office Complex, Ordnance Development Centre and Workshop, test track infrastructure to augment T-Series Tank overhaul capacity and residential quarters for AVNL personnel within the HVF and AVNL estates. The project, with a total estimated value of Rs 350 crore and a completion timeline of 36 months, will be executed in strict adherence to the highest quality, safety and sustainability standards. Refex Industries bags ₹30 crore order for NHAI Road Projects
Chennai: Chennai-based Refex Industries Limited has received an order worth ₹30.12 crore from a major PSU power prodcuer. In an exchange filing, the company said that the scope of services would include the transportation of pond ash to NHAI Road Projects for a major power producer (PSU). The filing did not disclose the name of the power producer.
Navi Mumbai Coastal Road 60% complete: Atal Setu to NMIA connection on track
A major coastal road project connecting India’s longest sea bridge, Atal Setu (Mumbai Trans Harbour Link), to the newly inaugurated Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has achieved 60 per cent physical progress, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) announced on Friday. The 7km, six-lane corridor, officially called the ‘Ulwe Coastal Road’, includes 5.80 km of coastal road and 0.90 km of Airport Link Road (ALR), and is expected to significantly improve regional transport infrastructure.
