JSW Cement plans to invest ₹11,000 crore to double capacity to 41 mt in 3 years
Hyderabad: JSW Cement, a JSW Group company, will invest ₹11,000 crore over the next three years to double the production capacity to 41 million tonnes from the current level of 20 mt. “At the time of our IPO, our capacity was 20 million tonnes. We added one million tonnes in Odisha since then. Our major expansion in Rajasthan is underway and will be ready by the end of January 2026. By this fiscal year-end, we will be a 25-million-tonne company. We plan to reach 41 million tonnes by 2028, then 60 mt thereafter,” JSW Cement Managing Director Parth Jindal told businessline.

Railways’ on-time performance at 80%: Vaishnaw
Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday said that the national transporter’s on-time performance has reached close to 80% across the network with some divisions recording over 90% punctuality. In a reply in Parliament, the minister said that in 25 out of the total 70 divisions, the punctuality is reaching 90%, highlighting the impact of strengthened maintenance practices and systematic operational upgrades implemented in recent years.
Land acquisition delays hamper execution of TN railway projects
Chennai: Execution of important infrastructure projects falling fully/partly in Tamil Nadu are held up due to delay in land acquisition, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in written reply to a query by DMK MP Tiruchi Siva in the Rajya Sabha on Friday. For instance, Rameshwaram – Dhanushkodi New Line (18 km) was sanctioned at a cost of ₹734 crore. The foundation stone of the project was laid on March 1, 2019. However, the project could not be started because the land acquisition has not been undertaken by the Tamil Nadu government, he said.
