RBI unveils measures to infuse Rs 3 lakh-crore liquidity
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will infuse around Rs 3 lakh crore into the banking system over the next month via open market bond purchases (OMOs) and a buy/sell dollar-rupee swap, it said on Tuesday.
Bankers urge RBI action as rupee forward premiums hit multi-year highs
Mumbai: Bankers are urging the Reserve Bank of India to intervene as a surge in dollar liquidity heading into year-end ‍and pressure in the non-deliverable forward market have pushed rupee forward premiums to multi-year highs. Outsized moves ​in the forward market intensified over the last week as the ‌dollar glut collided with regulatory and balance-sheet constraints, leading to a ​spike in premiums.

Shriram Finance to double in 3.5 years
Shriram Finance is expected to more than double in about three-and-a-half years, said its Executive Vice Chairman, Umesh Revankar, after securing a long‑awaited strategic partnership with Japan’s Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG). The deal, which will infuse nearly Rs 40,000 crore ($4.4 billion) into the NBFC, is aimed at strengthening capital buffers, lowering borrowing costs, and supporting the NBFC’s next phase of expansion.
Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company refutes corporate governance allegations, mulls legal action
Chennai: Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Ltd (CIFCL), on Tuesday, said that allegations raised against the company by a media portal were “malicious and baseless,” and wants regulators to look into the motives behind it. The company is also evaluating legal action against the publishers of the post, it added. The company executives, in a specially-convened analyst call on Tuesday, also acknowledged that they have already started reorganising the company structure and related-party arrangements to simplify them.

SBI Mutual Fund, BlackRock buy 6.56% stake in Belrise Industries for ₹897 crore
New Delhi: SBI Mutual Fund and BlackRock on Tuesday bought a combined stake of 6.56 per cent in Belrise Industries from a promoter entity of the automotive systems manufacturer for about Rs 897 crore through open market transactions. According to the block deal data available on the NSE, SBI Mutual Fund (MF) purchased nearly 5.13 crore shares or a 5.76 per cent stake in Belrise Industries, while BlackRock, through its arm BlackRock Emerging Markets Fund Inc, acquired over 70.50 lakh shares, representing a 0.79 per cent stake in the company.
