Maruti Suzuki Jimny, the true-blue SUV, becomes affordable by up to ₹60,000. Old and new price post GST 2.0 compared
Maruti Suzuki has reduced the price of its entire passenger vehicle lineup following the tax rate revision under the GST 2.0 regime that went into effect from September 22. While the small cars have received the major benefits owing to the reduced 18% tax in comparison to the previous 28% tax rates, the bigger cars too have witnessed a reduction in total tax incidence slapped on them. In this process, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, along with other models from the brand, have become cheaper than before. Maruti Suzuki Jimny, a true-blue off-roader that is sold in India in a five-door guise through the Nexa retail network, has witnessed its price being slashed by up to ₹60,000.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno price slashed by up to ₹86,000 before Diwali. Variant-wise old and new price compared
Maruti Suzuki Baleno is one of the few premium hatchbacks in India that compete with rivals like the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. The highly popular hatchback that is sold through the automaker's Nexa premium retail network has received a price cut right before the festive season. The price cut for the car ranges up to ₹86,000, under the new GST 2.0 tax regime that came into effect from September 22. Following the tax rate revisions, which reduced the applicable GST rates from 28% to 18% and abolished the compensation cess, Maruti Suzuki, like other automakers, has announced a price cut across its entire portfolio in order to pass on the benefits of GST rate cuts to consumers.

‘Personal loans, 2W to drive growth in H2,’ Sudipta Roy, MD & CEO L&T Finance
L&T Finance is betting on two-wheeler, personal and gold loans to drive growth in H2FY26, backed by GST-led demand and expansion in the branch footprint. In an interview with Kshipra Petkar, MD & CEO Sudipta Roy tells about the company’s digital push, asset quality strategy, and the road map to becoming a fully retail-focused lender within the next three quarters. Excerpts:
What’s driving the boom in India’s SUV segment? We explain
If you’ve spent any time on the roads in India lately, it’s clear that a tectonic shift has occurred. The erstwhile-ruling, sensible hatchback and the dignified sedan now find themselves taking second place to an entire flotilla of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs). It is not a momentary whim of fashion, but a deep structural reconfiguration of the Indian auto industry fueled by a strong confluence of macroeconomics, infrastructure realities and most convincingly human desire. In order to fully appreciate the extent of this boom, we have to consider the data, and the hub, of the Indian consumer.

Roadside assistance for electric bikes: how it differs from petrol two-wheelers
New Delhi: The shift towards electric mobility is not limited to cars; two-wheelers are also rapidly electrifying in India. With more riders choosing e-bikes for daily commutes, a question arises: Is roadside assistance the same for electric bikes as it is for petrol-powered two-wheelers? Roadside assistance is an add-on service offered with two-wheeler insurance policies. It provides help when a vehicle breaks down unexpectedly and leaves riders stranded. However, since electric bikes run on batteries instead of internal combustion engines, the type of support they need can differ.
