To regain 5% market share in India, Honda Motor to launch 10 new products by 2030: CEO
Tokyo: Japanese auto major Honda Motor Company on Friday said that it would launch 10 new cars in India by 2030, out of which seven will be sports utility vehicles (SUVs), to regain its market share of 5 per cent in the Indian passenger vehicles market.

Maruti Suzuki sees 8% profit growth amid small car demand surge
Mumbai: Maruti Suzuki India, which reported an 8 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at ₹3,349 crore and 13 per cent increase in revenue in Q2 FY26, is anticipating an increase in sales of small cars with the reduction in GST rates. “The retail sales of vehicles in the 18 per cent GST category are likely to grow faster than the ones in the 40 per cent category. 70 per cent of Maruti Suzuki India production falls under the lower tax bracket,” said Chairman RC Bhargava, pointing out that small cars have a big role to play in the retail demand.
Maruti Victoris fetches over 33,000 bookings till date, CNG trims contribute 33%
Maruti Suzuki Victoris is the latest entrant in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The SUV launched as a more premium offering than Brezza and a more affordable one than Grand Vitara, claims to have raked in more than 33,000 bookings since its launch in the country. Maruti Suzuki has claimed that the CNG variants of the SUV that come with an underbody CNG tank, which results in no boot space lost, have fetched more than 30% of the total bookings.

New Delhi: The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) is open to adjusting its product launch strategy if the sharp surge in small car sales seen since the reduction in goods and services tax (GST) continues, its Chairman R C Bhargava said on Friday. The ongoing boom, he said, could even encourage other automakers to bring hatchbacks back into their line-ups.

Subdued crude puts a lid on fuel inflation
Inflation in fuel and power, gauged by the wholesale price index  (WPI), has contracted for 10 straight quarters through July-September, 2025 as oil marketing companies have not increased the prices of petrol and diesel since March 15, 2024. For instance, between May 21, 2022 and March 14, 2024, retail price of petrol in Delhi remained unchanged at 96.72 a litre and diesel at Rs 89.62 a litre.

Porsche Panamera recalled in India for airbag issue
Porsche has announced a voluntary recall of 158 Panameras (YAA/YAB), manufactured between 19 July 2023 and 2 September 2025, due to incorrectly assigned cabling for the crash sensors in the door trim panel. "An incorrectly assigned sensor can delay the side airbag trigger in a particular crash situation. Such a delayed trigger of the side airbag increases the risk of injury," the Voluntary Recall Information section of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers' (SIAM) website stated. This comes amid the recent recall of 142 Porsche Panamera (YAA) units in Australia over a similar airbag issue.
