GST Evasion Notice: DGGI seeks Rs 3k crore from ICICI Lombard and other insurance cos
The Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence (DGGI) has sent notices seeking nearly Rs 3,000 crore in tax from several insurance companies including ICICI Lombard. The notices claim that these companies had not paid GST on reinsurance premiums despite receiving commissions from co-insurance companies.

A central law enforcement agency tasked with preventing the leakage of Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue has served ICICI Lombard with a show cause and demand notice for allegedly not paying Rs 1,728.9 crore worth of tax for five years from July 2017 till March 2022.

The Securities and Exchange  Board  of India (Sebi) Thursday in gazette notifications said it has renewed the licences of NSE Clearing Ltd and Indian Clearing Corporation Ltd for three years and the licences will be valid till October 2, 2026.
Sebi penalises YES Securities for wrong reporting of margin, other discrepancies
Capital markets regulator Sebi has imposed a penalty of Rs 5 lakh on YES Securities (India) Ltd for wrong reporting of margin and discrepancy in the computation of client's net worth. It has been directed to pay the fine within 45 days, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said in its order.

Regulator PFRDA is working on ways to make the social security scheme National Pension System (NPS) available at all bank branches and post offices, according to its Chairman Deepak Mohanty. The efforts are to increase the penetration of pension schemes by making the NPS products easily available to the public.
New Guaranteed Pension Scheme is a hybrid model: AP FM
Hyderabad: The new Guaranteed Pension Scheme (GPS) for the Andhra Pradesh government employees is a hybrid model between the present Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), according to its Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath. The GPS was being introduced in view of the long-standing demand from the employees for review of CCS. However, as reversal to the non-contributory OPS was not financially feasible, the guaranteed pension system is a middle path, he said.  The gains from the investment portion of CPS were only below 20 per cent and the new systems will be ‘beneficial’ as it has a guaranteed pension component, the Minister said.
