LIC plans to launch assured return product to increase market share

Life Insurance Corp of India (LIC), the nation's biggest insurer and capital-markets investor, would raise the share of policies benefiting investors by nearly 50% and introduce a product that provides nearly 10% of the sum assured every year post the policy term to policyholders, its chairman Siddhartha Mohanty told Shilpy Sinha and MC Govardhana Rangan. Separately, with its 'DIVE' digital programme, LIC is seeking to close the gap with private peers and extend its reach in rural India, Mohanty said.
