Shriram Life Insurance Q2 gross premium increases 29%, net profit declines marginally
Shriram Life Insurance reported a more than 29% increase in gross premium to ₹745 crore (from ₹576 crore in the year earlier period) for the September quarter.

Life insurers’ new business premium to grow 9-12% in FY24: ICRA
Mumbai: Life insurance industry’s new business premium (NBP) is expected to grow 9-12 per cent in FY24 to ₹4.06-4.14-lakh crore, and by 11-13 per cent to ₹4.49-4.66-lakh crore in FY25, up from ₹3.71-lakh crore in FY23, according to ICRA.
LIC’s Q2 earnings seen muted on decline in VNB margins
Mumbai: Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India is expected to post muted results for Q2 FY24 owing to compression in VNB (value of new business) margins across the sector on the back of decline in the share of high-margin non-participatory products. However, overall premium growth is expected to remain steady led by a broad-based growth, especially in protection, retail, and annuity products. 
LIC posts highest ever half-year PAT of ₹17,469 crore
Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India posted a net profit of ₹17,469 crore for H1 FY24, the insurer’s highest ever half-yearly profit, largely on account of transfer of ₹13,768 crore,  pertaining to accretion on available solvency margin, from non-participating policyholders’ fund to shareholders’ account.
